SUMMARY: Accountant should have strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both in writing and verbally, with management, co-workers, and payors. Responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Minimum of 3 years of experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, and auditing. Knowledge of GAAP practices and principles. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific/technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints. Ability to present speeches and articles for publication. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and complex percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Thorough knowledge of accounting and finance principles required. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical/diagram format. Must be able to generate and maintain reports from statistical data collected from various resources. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Requires excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Must possess the ability to work efficiently and effectively with all levels of the organization. Ability to use fax machine, office copier, and computer required. Previous experience with MicroSoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer, or another web browser, is a must. Excellent organizational skills with acute attention to detail are a must. Must be self-motivated and comfortable working on several projects in concurrence.
