We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities for the Staff Accountant include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare month-end journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Drive accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
  • Own parts of complex areas of the general ledger such as fixed assets, leases, and intercompany processing.
  • Prepare high‑quality workpapers and analyses that support financial statements, GAAP and Tax audits.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects.
  • Perform other general accounting duties as assigned.

 

This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with the expectation of 3 days in our downtown Chicago, IL office and 2 days working remotely from home.

Qualifications:

Essential skills and experience:

  • BS or MS in Accounting
  • CPA candidacy desirable but not required
  • 0-3 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Detail-oriented and strong analytical skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and sound business judgment
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functional areas
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Workday experience a plus

Compensation Range: $52,350.00 - $81,080.00 Transparency Statement: Sargent & Lundy discloses compensation ranges that comply with all local and state regulations.
