Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
- Overseeing full-cycle accounts payable including approving vendor invoices and coding them properly
- Managing payments including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and cash disbursements
- Reconciling vendor statements and communicate with vendors regarding questions or discrepancies
- Spearheading the 1099 audits for quarter-end and year-end
- Processing payroll on a bi-monthly basis and creating payroll-related journal entries
- Onboarding new and offboarding terminated employees in the HRIS
- Maintaining payroll records, resolving any payroll discrepancies, and answering employee payroll-related questions
- Administering benefits enrollments, 401(k) plan contributions, and related reconciliations
- Generating payroll reports for the HR and accounting departments, as requested
Background Expected of the Staff Accountant:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or experience equivalent (+4 years)
- 5+ years of experience in an accounting role including accounts payable and payroll responsibilities
- QuickBooks experience preferred
