    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    The Sr. Tax Associate (Income) is primarily responsible for performing the day-to-day federal and state & local income tax compliance functions including support of tax compliance, audit and notice resolution and research, preparation of HCI legal entities and assigned special purpose entity federal and state income tax returns. In addition, this role will be responsible for quarterly estimated tax payments, apportionment schedules, tax provision assistance, reconciling assigned general ledger accounts, as well as preparing desktop procedures and assisting with ad-hoc projects.

    HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
    • Prepare all corporate legal entity and assigned special purpose entity federal and state income tax workpapers, tax returns, quarterly estimated tax calculation and payments, extensions calculation and payments, and allocation and apportionment schedules. Assist in preparation of workpapers necessary to support affiliate filing of combined / consolidated state income tax returns.
    • Prepare estimated taxable income calculation for federal and state & local quarterly income tax provision. Prepare additional schedules as needed to support the quarterly income tax provision process, including but not limited to - statutory rate and apportionment change analysis, tax payment analysis, new account analysis, and various financial statement supporting workpapers.
    • Assist with preparation of federal and state audit support, including preliminary research and drafting initial responses. Work with the team to provide schedules requested by international affiliates, internal business partners, and vendors.
    • Prepare and analyze monthly general ledger account reconciliation including investigation and aid in the resolution of any variances, as needed. Assist on special assignments/projects as needed.


    • Qualifications

      WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
      • Minimum 4-6 years related experience in general accounting or tax.
      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business.
      • General accounting knowledge, with an understanding of US GAAP
      • Technical knowledge in the area of federal and state & local income taxes
      • Knowledge of tax laws with the ability to research complex federal, and state & local income tax issues
      • Proficiency with a variety of tax preparation and research software.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products, including proven ability to effectively use Excel.
      • Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
      • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
      • High energy and ability to work in a fast-paced business environment.
      • Creative, innovative and adaptive to change..
      • Exceptional attention to detail and quality.
      • Must have the ability to challenge, when appropriate, existing practices.
