Overview:

This position will sit in our Pennsylvania Operating Company and is responsible for full-cycle recruiting including proactively sourcing candidates utilizing social networking tools and technology tools such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Indeed, etc.  This position identifies and develops process improvements to enable the continuous refinement of staffing and recruiting services that promote a positive customer experience for candidates and hiring managers.  This position works closely with the HR Business Partners and line management to develop a recruiting strategy ensuring the right candidates are identified and ultimately selected.   

Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for the execution of the complete staffing process from recruitment strategy, hiring manager interface, requisitioning, candidate screening, coordination of hiring with the HR business partner. 
  • Must have exceptional experience and positive results in proactively recruiting candidates utilizing the latest software tools and web sourcing including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Indeed, etc.  as well through networking. 
  • Must have solid experience utilizing social media to promote new jobs and communicate the positives of working for the company.  
  • Must possess a high level of initiative to continually expand network through leveraging user groups, blogs, and networking events.
  • Responsible for researching and staying abreast on new social media recruitment strategies and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and experience in establishing and maintaining relationships online to help proactively fill the talent pipeline.
  • Partner with the HR business partners and hiring managers in creating a solid recruiting strategy to build an effective and successful sourcing, assessment, and hiring plan that will attract top talent.   
  • Must possess strong ability to screen, interview and prepare a candidate slate within an appropriate timeline.
  • Must have exceptional experience in creating a positive recruitment experience for every candidate including turning down unsuccessful candidates to keep them engaged for other potential opportunities. 
  • Identifies, develops, and implements staffing initiatives/projects to advance company recruiting and selection efforts; analyzes current staffing processes and provides recommendation to implement using benchmarking or learned best practices.
  • Interprets results of screening tools (e.g. personality assessments, technical assessments) with minimal guidance to assist HR business partners and the hiring managers in the selection process.
  • Partners with the talent associate, HR business partners and Mgr. Diversity and Inclusion in recruiting and outreach efforts such as job fairs, community activities, diversity outreach, college relations, etc. to advance the company’s recruitment brand.
  • Ensures that recruiting and hiring activities follow company policies, federal, state, and local laws.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned.
  • May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.
  • The company reserves the right to determine if this position will be assigned to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both. Assigned work location may change. In the case of remote work, physical presence in the office/on-site may be required to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.
Qualifications:

 

Sr. Staffing Specialist

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field and minimum of five years of corporate or professional recruitment/staffing experience utilizing social media
  • Possesses a proficient knowledge of applicant tracking systems and capabilities
  • Proficient use of MS Office is required
  • Possesses a wide range of experience in the staffing of a variety of job classifications (professional, management, technical, skilled labor, etc.).
