Job Summary

QB Energy Operating LLC is seeking a Senior Revenue/Regulatory Accountant to join our Revenue team. This role's primary responsibility will be accurate and timely ONRR Reporting, balanced with booking the Company's certain oil and gas revenue and accruals. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in upstream oil and gas revenue processing, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Upstream Revenue Accounting:

  •       Record oil and gas revenue accurately and on a timely basis, ensuring reconciliation of cash receipts
  •       Book monthly accruals based on estimated volume and pricing data

ONRR Compliance & Regulatory Reporting:

  •       Assist with Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR) reporting of Form 2014s, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
  •       Support ONRR compliance reviews, responding to data requests and coordinating with internal departments to provide required documentation
  •       Maintain organized records to facilitate audits and regulatory inquiries

General Accounting Support:

  •       Perform certain monthly close activities related to revenue, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  •       As needed, collaborate cross-functionally with Land, Operations, and Marketing teams to ensure accurate revenue data
  •       Identify and escalate revenue discrepancies or unusual variances in a timely manner
  •       Support process improvement and automation initiatives within the Revenue Accounting function

Qualifications

Required:

  •       Minimum 7 years of upstream revenue oil and gas accounting experience
  •       Minimum 5 years of ONRR 2014 preparation experience for natural gas, with working knowledge of ONRR reporting requirements, including Form 2014 submissions, and experience supporting ONRR compliance reviews, including lease- and agreement-level allocations, royalty valuation, adjustments, and prior-period corrections
  •       Experience in BOLO, or similar oil and gas accounting platforms
  •       Strong understanding of oil and gas revenue cycles and accrual methodology, including hands-on month-end close experience with journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  •       Ability to work cross-functionally with Land, Operations, and Marketing, and to research, escalate, and resolve revenue discrepancies independently
  •       Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines
  •       Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, large data sets), with demonstrated interest in process improvement and automation

Preferred:

  •       Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent revenue accounting experience

Compensation

The base compensation for this role in this location is targeted between $105,000 and $130,000 annually. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the range listed above.
