Are you an experienced property accountant looking to take your career to the next level? We have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a seasoned Sr. Property Accountant to join our vibrant team in Newport Beach. This is a permanent position in the Accounting + Finance industry, offering a challenging and rewarding environment with ample opportunities for professional growth. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in property accounting, specifically in the commercial real estate sector.
Responsibilities:
As a Sr. Property Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our Accounting + Finance team. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Managing all aspects of property accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
2. Performing CAM reconciliations and preparing annual CAM reconciliations for tenants.
3. Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
4. Coordinating with property management teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of property financials.
5. Assisting in budgeting and forecasting activities for property portfolios.
6. Conducting variance analysis and providing explanations for significant variances.
7. Ensuring timely payment of property taxes, insurance, and other property-related expenses.
8. Collaborating with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
9. Participating in special projects and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or other relevant certification will be a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, with a focus on commercial property accounting.
3. Solid experience with CAM reconciliations.
4. Proficiency in commercial real estate accounting.
5. Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
6. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
