Senior Omnichannel Media Strategist & Buyer
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Omnichannel Media Strategist & Buyer to take ownership of paid media strategy and performance across a portfolio of client businesses.
We are looking for someone who can understand a client's business, identify what is preventing growth, develop the media strategy to solve it, execute that strategy across channels, and proactively identify opportunities to improve performance and scale investment. You will be the media owner within a client pod consisting of Account Management, Creative, and shared Data & Analytics resources. The Account Manager owns the overall client relationship and coordination. You own media performance, media strategy, investment decisions, testing strategy, and the identification of opportunities to scale.
Your job is not simply to manage campaigns.
Your job is to help solve the business problem the client hired us to solve.
What You'll Own
1. Understand the Client's Business
Before determining what should happen in an advertising account, you need to understand the
business behind it.
You will develop a working understanding of each client's:
Business model
Products and services
Revenue and growth targets
Margins and unit economics
Customer acquisition economics
Average order value or lead value
Conversion rates
Seasonality
Promotional calendar
Competitive environment
Customer journey
Historical media performance
Creative performance
Measurement environment
Operational constraints
You should be able to explain not only what is happening in the media accounts, but why it
matters to the client's business.
2. Own the Omnichannel Media Strategy
You will determine how paid media should work together to achieve the client's business
objectives.
Depending on the client, the channel mix may include:
Meta
Google Ads
CTV
YouTube
TikTok
Pinterest
LinkedIn
We do not expect every candidate to have identical depth across every platform.
We do expect strong hands-on expertise across Meta, Google and CTV, combined with the
strategic ability to evaluate additional channels and determine when they belong in the media
plan.
You need to understand that channels do not operate independently.
Meta may generate demand that Google captures.
CTV may increase branded search.
Search data may reveal messaging opportunities for Creative.
A channel with the highest reported ROAS may not necessarily deserve the next dollar.
Your responsibility is to understand the complete system and answer:
Where should the next dollar go, and why?
3. Personally Execute the Media
This is a strategic role, but it remains hands-on.
You will personally:
Build campaigns
Launch campaigns
Manage budgets
Control pacing
Optimize campaigns
Manage bidding strategies
Evaluate audiences
Analyze search behavior
Develop testing structures
Monitor conversion signals
Diagnose delivery problems
Reallocate investment
Scale successful campaigns
We are looking for media leaders who can think strategically, execute hands-on, and take
ownership of the outcome.
You should be able to move seamlessly from identifying the business problem and determining
the media strategy to executing that strategy inside the platforms, evaluating the result, and
deciding what needs to happen next.
4. Own Performance Across Your Portfolio
You will own a defined portfolio of client businesses.
That means knowing the health of your portfolio without waiting for someone else to tell you
there is a problem.
You will be expected to:
Monitor performance proactively
Review pacing against budget and business objectives
Identify material performance changes
Diagnose why performance changed
Surface risks early
Develop recommendations
Communicate those recommendations to the client pod
Establish clear priorities
Maintain testing roadmaps
Identify dependencies
Escalate issues when necessary
Follow through until issues are resolved
At C Squared, ownership means moving from:
"Here's what happened."
to:
"Here’s the outcome, here’s why it happened, here’s what I’m doing about it, and here’s
how I’m going to move the business toward the result we need."
5. Find Opportunities to Scale
Strong performance should create the opportunity for greater client investment.
Finding those opportunities is part of your job.
You should constantly be asking:
What would need to be true for this client to spend more profitably?
That may mean:
Scaling an existing campaign
Increasing investment in a channel
Reallocating investment between channels
Launching another channel
Expanding audiences
Testing another product
Entering another geography
Improving creative
Improving landing-page performance
Solving an attribution problem
Increasing conversion rate
Testing another offer
Capturing additional existing demand
When the economics and performance support increased investment, we expect you to identify
it and make the business case.
6. Lead Media Testing
Every client should have a clear testing agenda.
You will develop and prioritize hypotheses across:
Creative
Messaging
Offers
Audiences
Campaign structure
Landing pages
Products
Channels
Bidding strategies
Budget allocation
Conversion experience
Measurement
Testing should not exist simply to generate activity.
You should know:
What are we testing?
Why are we testing it?
What decision will the result allow us to make?
What happens if it wins?
7. Influence Creative Strategy
Media and Creative are interconnected.
You will work directly with Creative to turn performance data into creative direction.
You should be able to identify:
Winning concepts
Winning hooks
Audience insights
Fatiguing creative
Messaging opportunities
Offer opportunities
Format opportunities
Funnel gaps
New creative territories worth exploring
You do not need to design the creative.
You do need to know what creative the account needs next and why.
8. Understand Measurement
Platform reporting is one input into a decision—not necessarily the truth.
You should be comfortable working with:
Platform attribution
GA4
CRM data
Triple Whale
Northbeam
Offline conversions
Incrementality testing
Geo-testing
Blended performance
Revenue and customer data
Our Data & Analytics team supports measurement infrastructure and deeper analysis.
Your responsibility is to understand the data well enough to use it, question it, identify
inconsistencies, and make informed investment decisions.
9. Lead Within the Client Pod
You will work closely with Account Management, Creative, and Data.
Account Management
The Account Manager owns the overall client relationship, communication rhythm, and
coordination.
You own the media recommendation.
Creative
Creative owns production and creative execution.
You help determine what needs to be created based on performance and opportunity.
Data & Analytics
Data supports tracking, measurement, attribution, and deeper analytical needs.
You identify when measurement is limiting decision-making and engage Data accordingly.
The strongest client outcomes happen when these functions operate together rather than
sequentially.
What We're Looking For
Required
7+ years of hands-on paid media experience
Strong hands-on expertise in Meta Ads
Strong hands-on expertise in Google Ads
Experience managing meaningful paid media budgets
Experience managing multiple client businesses simultaneously
Strong understanding of paid social and paid search

Strong analytical skills
Understanding of attribution limitations
Experience developing testing strategies
Strong budget allocation and forecasting ability

Additional Experience We Value
Experience with:
YouTube
TikTok
Pinterest
Reddit
Triple Whale
Northbeam
GA4
Incrementality testing
Geo-testing
CRM/offline conversion data
Ecommerce
Lead generation
Depth across every one of these areas is not required.
The ability to understand when and why to use them is.
What Will Make You Successful Here
You are curious.
You notice things before someone asks you to look.
When performance changes, you investigate why.
When something works, you ask whether it can scale.
You don't wait for an Account Manager to develop the media strategy for you.
You don't confuse activity with progress.
You understand that optimization and strategy are different skills.
You can make decisions with imperfect information.
You know when more analysis is required and when it is simply delaying a decision.
You are comfortable challenging assumptions.
You bring recommendations rather than observations.
And you understand that your responsibility extends beyond the boundaries of an advertising
platform.
How Success Will Be Measured
Success will not be measured by the number of campaigns launched or optimizations
completed.
We will evaluate the health and growth of your portfolio.
That includes:
Performance against client business objectives
Client retention
Portfolio revenue retention
Client growth
Responsible media-spend expansion
Identification of scaling opportunities
Quality of strategic recommendations
Speed of issue identification
Quality and velocity of testing
Cross-channel decision-making
Creative contribution
Collaboration across the pod
Client confidence in your media leadership
Ultimately, the standard is straightforward:
Understand the business. Own the media outcome. Solve problems proactively. Create
opportunities to scale.
