What You’ll Do
Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot control systems for industrial automation applications including PLCs, HMIs, drives, and networks
Create and sustain automation and control system architectures
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and system owners to ensure projects are completed on-time and within budget
Conduct testing and commissioning of automation systems
Analyze system requirements for industrial automated manufacturing control systems
This is a customer-facing Sr. Instrumentation Technician role supporting industrial automation environments.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight
7–10+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, controls, instrumentation, or electrical engineering
Direct experience supporting water or wastewater treatment facilities strongly preferred
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with motion control systems and electrical control panel design
Experience designing, developing, troubleshooting, and commissioning automated manufacturing or process control systems in industrial environments
Proven ability to calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair complex instrumentation systems
Ability to safely troubleshoot live systems in operational environments
Preferred Experience
Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment/systems in industrial manufacturing facilities
Knowledge of PLC programming, HMI design, industrial networks and ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs and general engineering documents/drawings
This role is ideal for candidates with experience as a Controls Technician, Automation Technician, or Instrumentation Technicain working with:
Industrial automation and systems integration
Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
Drives, servos, and motion control systems
DCS and industrial control systems
Industrial robotics including Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, Universal Robots, and Yaskawa/Motoman
