Sr Employee Communications Manager - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Sr Employee Communications Manager for a hybrid position (2 days per week, Wednesday required onsite) with a Leading Technology Firm located in Mountain View, CA. This is a 6 month contract opportunity.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Employee Communications team as a contractor. The Senior Communications Manager for Engineering will be a business partner first and a communicator second. They'll love working with executive leaders, being a strong team player, and getting energized by being a part of a fast-moving, creative, and innovative organization. They'll be passionate about using their communications and storytelling skills to amplify our tech stories, engage employees, support organizational change, and drive business outcomes. They'll also be a fluent and active user of AI, using it as an everyday thought partner to research, synthesize, create, iterate, and work more effectively. They'll bring strong communications judgment to how and when AI is used and continually experiment with new ways it can improve both the quality and efficiency of their work.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a strategic communications advisor to VP level executives within our engineering team and other key partners, advising on communications strategy (including content, forums, and timing) to ensure team members are informed, inspired and empowered to help our client succeed
• Use AI as an integrated part of the communications workflow, including research, synthesis, strategic planning, audience insights, content development, meeting and document analysis, and rapid iteration, while applying strong judgment, accuracy checks, and responsible AI practices
• Build and execute global communications strategies for major moments that inform and inspire our global employee base
• Lead end-to-end employee communications for organizational changes, including partnering with HR and leadership to clarify strategy and rationale, and managing timing, sequencing, and delivery across channels
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to build communications plans that amplify our talent initiatives and reinforce our culture and values
• Help develop, evolve, and maintain various digital communications channels
• Provide onsite event production support for all hands meetings and other employee events
• Support a broad range of internal communications initiatives and events across the broader Employee Communications team

Requirements:

• 6 years of experience in Employee Communications

Desired skills:

• Experience leading technology communications, partnering with engineering leaders, including a strong familiarity with what's happening in tech
• Excellent writing and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex technical information into narratives the average team member can understand
• Experience supporting organizational change and change management communications, including helping team members understand and navigate transitions
• Strategic thinker with strong business and technical acumen
• Leadership agility and ability to advise and influence senior leaders on communications approach, messaging and tactics
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Entrepreneurial self-starter and problem solver who is comfortable with ambiguity
• Advanced, hands-on experience using AI as an everyday communications tool and thought partner; Able to demonstrate how AI has been used to accelerate research and synthesis, strengthen strategic thinking, develop and iterate content, and improve communications workflows, while applying strong human judgment and responsible AI practices

Pay range: $76.15 - $130.00 per hour
