Sr. Data Engineer

Constellation Search Group is looking for a Senior Data Engineer for a full-time remote direct hire position. The Senior Data Engineer will design, develop, and support data pipelines from multiple applications and sources to meet analytics needs. This role involves collaboration with Sales & Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams, as well as data scientists, to develop data-driven insights and facilitate informed decision-making processes. Utilizing tools and technologies such as Python, SQL Server, and Google BigQuery, the individual will contribute to enhancing data analytics capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Develop data pipelines from multiple sources using Python and API calls.
• Create SQL code or data flows to integrate and transform data from various sources into easily consumable elements.
• Collaborate with business analysts and users to understand data requirements and translate them into accessible data elements.
• Provide ongoing support and enhancements for data pipelines in the production environment, addressing critical business needs and issues promptly.
• Participate in design discussions and propose solutions to develop new capabilities.
• Conduct code reviews to identify and implement improvements in coding, process, and functionality.
• Troubleshoot issues, identify performance bottlenecks, problem solve, and conduct impact analysis.
• Follow the Scrum process and manage Jira stories effectively.
• Lead offshore developers by providing directions and guidance on development and support processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or in a team.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with technical and non-technical staff.
• Over 3 years of experience with Python or .NET programming.
• Over 3 years of experience with ETL and SQL development.
• Over 3 years of experience with cloud data platforms like GCP, Azure, or AWS.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot independently.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies as required.
