The Senior Contract Analyst, Physician Compensation and Contracting, reports to and supports the Vice President, Physician Compensation and Contracting. The Senior Contract Analyst performs advanced analytical, financial modeling, project coordination, and contract-lifecycle work under the direction of the Vice President. The Vice President retains departmental leadership, strategic direction, final recommendation authority, oversight of high-value and high-complexity arrangements, and executive escalation responsibilities. The Senior Contract Analyst independently manages assigned workstreams within established policies, approval authority, and strategic direction and collaborates with Senior Leadership, Department Leadership, Finance, Legal, Human Resources, Strategy, Information Technology, Information Security, Privacy, and Compliance.

Responsibilities:
    1. Provider Contracting: Support the Vice President in the central coordination of contracting 
      • Provider Contracting: Under the direction of the Vice President, lead day-to-day coordination and manage assigned workstreams among department leadership, physician enterprise leadership, and other key stakeholders.
      • Contract Lifecycle Management: Manage the contract tracker and coordinate assigned agreements from initial request through approvals, negotiations, drafting, execution, renewal, amendment, and closeout. The Vice President retains responsibility for material business decisions, negotiation strategy, final recommendations, and executive escalation. Proactively identify risks, delays, dependencies, and required escalations.
      • Advanced Analytical Support: Perform and present advanced analysis under the direction of the Vice President in all areas of Physician Compensation and Contracting.
      • Track expiration dates and proactively coordinate renewal planning.
      • Monitor contracts through the approval process and maintain accurate status, documentation, and follow-up actions.
      • Develop compensation analyses and proposed terms for review and approval by the Vice President for physician new hires, renewals, and amendments.
      • Conduct fair market value analyses and coordinate supporting documentation for internal or third-party review.
      • Evaluate programmatic compensation models and summarize financial, operational, and compliance implications.
      • Produce recurring and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and executive-ready presentations.
      • Prepare committee agendas and decision materials; document approvals, conditions, and follow-up items; publish dispositions and maintain an auditable decision record.
      • Financial Modeling and Business Planning: Build and maintain scenario-based financial models and compensation assumptions for business planning, programs, and physician arrangements; perform variance, sensitivity, breakeven, and return analyses; and present findings and recommendations to the Vice President and other stakeholders.
      • Practice Acquisitions and Due Diligence: Under the direction of the Vice President, lead assigned analytical and project-coordination workstreams for due diligence, compensation assessment, and financial modeling. Support the Vice President and other authorized leaders in negotiations.
      • Compensation Strategy Development: Support the Vice President by developing recommendations and managing assigned components of the design, testing, documentation, and implementation of physician compensation models. Final model design and strategic direction remain subject to Vice President and applicable governance approval.
      • Compliance and Governance: Support the Vice President, Legal, and Compliance by applying established policies and controls, preparing analyses, identifying concerns, and escalating matters requiring legal, compliance, or executive interpretation.
      • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the day-to-day analytical and administrative point of contact for assigned matters while escalating material decisions, exceptions, and unresolved issues to the Vice President.
      • Systems and Process Improvement: Serve as the day-to-day functional administrator for the centralized contract management system under the direction of the Vice President. Recommend and implement approved workflow, data-quality, control, and reporting improvements.
      • AI-Enabled Workflow Improvement: Evaluate and, with appropriate organizational, Information Security, Privacy, Legal, Compliance, and Vice President approval, use approved artificial intelligence, workflow automation, and low-code tools to improve contract intake, document-review support, data extraction, tracking, approval routing, reporting, template management, and other contracting workflows. Validate outputs, maintain human review and accountability, protect confidential information, and document controls and process changes.
      • Team Development: Provide work guidance, training, quality review, and technical support to analysts or other junior team members, as assigned by the Vice President.
Qualifications:

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, FP&A, compensation analysis, healthcare finance, contracting, or a closely related field. Direct physician compensation or contracting experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and owning complex models, forecasts, management reporting, and senior-leadership presentations required.
  • Experience supporting healthcare provider organizations, physician enterprises, or multisite medical groups preferred.
  • Experience using approved AI, workflow automation, or low-code tools to improve contracting, finance, legal operations, or other administrative workflows preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Skills:

  • Advanced Financial and Analytical Acumen: Ability to build, audit, and explain complex financial models and perform forecasting, variance, scenario, sensitivity, breakeven, and return analyses. Advanced Microsoft Excel required.
  • Contract and Project Management: Ability to manage concurrent agreements and projects, maintain detailed documentation, drive follow-up, and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Healthcare Industry Expertise: Working understanding of healthcare operations, physician practice management, finance, and physician contracting and compensation.
  • Legal and Compliance Knowledge: Working familiarity with healthcare laws and governance requirements related to physician contracts and compensation, including the ability to recognize and escalate issues.
  • AI and Workflow Automation: Working knowledge of approved artificial intelligence, workflow automation, or low-code tools used to streamline administrative or contracting processes. Ability to identify appropriate use cases, test and validate outputs, document controls, protect confidential information, and maintain human review. Experience automating contract intake, data extraction, tracking, reporting, or approval workflows preferred.
  • Communication and Executive Presence: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including communicating complex analysis to physicians, executives, department leaders, Finance, Human Resources, and Legal.
  • Judgment and Ownership: Ability to work independently within established authority, exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, identify risks, and escalate material matters to the Vice President.
