This position requires the individual to have expertise in steady state and transient thermodynamic cycles and to be highly capable of building, debugging, refining, and maintaining NPSS system thermal models. Work collaboratively and effectively across multiple engineering disciplines to build accurate systems models.

Must have skills:
Aerospace gas turbine engine steady state Performance and/or transient Operability modeling expertise and experience. I'm not interested in candidates who provided input to or used the output of the analysis done by the Performance or Operability engineers. I need someone who performed the thermodynamic modeling and analysis as a Performance or Operability Engineer.
Skilled and experienced with building, debugging, and refining NPSS engine cycle models.
Adept at requirements decomposition
Work collaboratively and effectively across multiple engineering disciplines to build accurate systems models.
Operate in a Model Based Systems Engineering environment.
Work location: Onsite (hybrid 3+ days/wk) is preferred, we but can accommodate remote work. In situations of 100% remote, there may be situations when the person would need to come to the site for a customer critical design reviews or test support.
Gas Turbine Performance Sr Advanced Engineer

Summary:
This is an outstanding opportunity for an Engineer with aerospace gas turbine engine experience to join the Performance & Operability team. Our gas turbine engines power a wide range of commercial and military aerospace platforms. This position requires the individual to have expertise in steady state and transient thermodynamic cycles and to be highly capable of building, debugging, refining, and maintaining NPSS system thermal models. Effective knowledge transfer of NPSS modeling techniques is an important aspect of this role. *** operates in a Model Based Systems Environment (MBSE) and experience connecting NPSS models to MBSE tools such as Cameo is desired. The Engineer is responsible for engine definition through all phases of the new product introduction (NPI) processes.

Responsibilities:
Build, debug, refine, and maintain steady state and transient thermal models using NPSS (Numerical Propulsion System Simulation)
Develop NPSS customer models
Foster productive knowledge transfer of NPSS modeling techniques
Perform requirements analysis & requirements decomposition
Provide test coverage & data reduction to support engine development and qualification
Communicate effectively to leadership, customers, and peers including presentations and technical reports.
Work collaboratively across cross-functional disciplines and teams.

Desired Characteristics:

• Strong understanding of gas turbine engine steady state and transient thermodynamics and physics
• Skilled and experienced with building, debugging, and refining NPSS engine cycle models.
• Productive mentoring skills that result in technical growth, particularly with NPSS modeling.
• Experience in MBSE environments and connecting NPSS models to MBSE tools such as Cameo
• Professional verbal & written communication skills; adept in presenting to upper leadership and customers

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering
• 4 years of experience with turbine engine Performance & Operability Modeling and Analysis
