Location: Hybrid (4 days/week in-office )
Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000 Base + Annual Discretionary Bonus

Join a dynamic NYC professional services firm as a Senior Accountant, where you will serve as a pillar of their finance operations. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will move beyond simple data entry to own key components of the month-end close, revenue recognition, and strategic financial analysis.
This is a "hands-on" leadership-track role for an ambitious accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to see the direct impact of their work on a scaling organization.

Full-Cycle Accounting
  • Own the Close: Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including complex accruals, intercompany reconciliations, and GL maintenance.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare GAAP-compliant management reporting packages and provide the "why" behind the numbers through rigorous variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
  • Audit & Compliance: Act as the primary liaison for external auditors and tax advisors, ensuring all schedules and statutory filings are accurate and timely.
Operational Excellence
  • Revenue & Billing: Partner with the business to support revenue recognition and oversee the invoicing lifecycle to optimize DSO and cash flow.
  • Payroll & Expenses: Collaborate with HR to reconcile payroll activities (ADP) and ensure internal controls over purchasing and disbursements remain ironclad.
  • Process Architecture: Identify and implement opportunities to automate and standardize accounting workflows to support the firm's continued growth.
The Ideal Profile
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. A background in Big 4 or national public accounting is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong foundation in U.S. GAAP and proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Dynamics, or similar).
  • Excel Mastery: You should be a power user capable of utilizing pivot tables, lookups, and basic modeling to resolve complex accounting issues.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA (or progress toward it) is a significant plus.
