Job Description The Virginia Tech School of Communication invites applications for a full-time open-rank Professor of Practice non-tenure-track. The successful candidate will be expected to teach sports media and analytics courses which could include: Intro to Sports Media Sports Journalism Broadcasting Performance Sports Play-by-Play Reporting Sportscenter As well as courses relevant to the successful candidates area of expertise. The expected teaching load is three classes per semester. Required Qualifications Masters degree in journalism or related field, or bachelors degree in journalism, communication, or related field with substantial experience in sports media. Demonstration of extensive professional sports media industry expertise. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate in journalism or related field. Full-time experience in sports media. Sports broadcasting experience. Sports production experience. College-level teaching experience. Familiarity with multimedia equipment and editing software (mirrorless DSLR cameras, ENG cameras, control room equipment, sideline reporting equipment, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
