Location District Pay Information

Range 5 ($10,242.42 - $16,683.82) per month based on the current Management salary schedule. This is Restricted position; The position may continue, contingent upon renewal of funding.

Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. This position is FLSA Exempt and may not accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment. Join Our Facilities & Operations Team at SDCCD

At the SDCCD, the Police Department is the cornerstone of campus safety. Providing 24/7 public-safety services across our colleges, continuing-education campuses, and administrative sites requires modern, reliable, and effective security infrastructure and technology.

As the Special Projects Manager V, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and overseeing complex public-safety technology and infrastructure projects that support the District's Police Department and its mission. This position will manage projects from initial planning and design through implementation and completion, working closely with Police Department personnel, District departments, contractors, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders.

Key projects may include:

Planning and implementation of new and upgraded security infrastructure throughout the District, including security-related systems and technologies.

Coordination and implementation of police radio and communications systems, including new dispatch equipment and related technology.

Project management for the design, buildout, and implementation of a new Police Communications/Dispatch Center, including coordination of technology, equipment, infrastructure, vendors, and operational requirements.

Implementation and modernization of other Police Department technologies and public-safety systems designed to improve officer safety, communications, emergency response, situational awareness, and campus security.

Coordination of project schedules, budgets, procurement, vendors, contractors, technical requirements, and project deliverables to ensure projects are completed effectively and within established timelines.

This position offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of project management, technology, facilities, and public safety, helping ensure that SDCCD's Police Department has the infrastructure and technological resources necessary to effectively serve the District's students, employees, and visitors.

Training and Experience:

Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: a Bachelor's degree in a field related to the technical skills required of the project and three (3) years paid work experience in project planning and/or business management.

License: Valid California driver's license.

Foreign Degree:

Applicants with foreign degrees from colleges or universities outside of the United States must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute, INC.(ACEI).
