    The Opportunity

    This position works out of our Plano, TX location in the Neuromodulation Division. Our Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum.

    The Sourcing Manager is responsible for the purchasing and supply management activities for multiple categories with focus in Mechanical, Batteries, and/or Precious Metals. They will work closely with key stakeholders in both Corporate and Division organizations to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans. They will nurture stakeholder relationships by serving as a business partner, helping identify critical business requirements and providing sourcing and procurement services that meet expectations. The manager will drive reduced total cost of ownership by optimizing tier 2 and tier 3 supply chains and leverage extensive market and supplier knowledge. They will proactively identify areas of opportunity for new business opportunities, process improvement, and cost efficiencies. They will deliver supply continuity by working through issues with suppliers.  They will also provide longer range strategy insight to the Neuromodulation business unit on how to best develop and leverage supplier capabilities for the organization(s).


    What You'll Work On

    • Develop business unit sourcing strategies and translate them into actionable programs and projects.
    • Influence and partner with business leaders and Corporate Procurement to develop and evolve sourcing strategies based on business priorities and market dynamics.
    • Drive Total Cost of Ownership improvements across departments and with suppliers through analytics, financial acumen, market intelligence, and cost reduction initiatives while balancing quality, service, and risk.
    • Advise business units on industry best practices and sourcing strategies; lead global, cross-functional initiatives across virtual teams and cultures.
    • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of services consistent with agreed service levels.
    • Ensure contract terms and conditions align with business requirements and organizational objectives.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to foster collaboration and achieve business goals.
    • Evaluate, select, and recommend suppliers in partnership with R&D, Quality, Operations, Regulatory, and other key functions.
    • Serve as the primary supplier relationship owner, managing strategic partnerships, supplier performance, quality, delivery, and pricing.
    • Monitor supplier and market performance across regions to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost avoidance, and risk mitigation.
    • Negotiate commercial agreements and major purchases within established authority limits.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
    • 3-5 years of deep Category/Commodity Management experience.
    • 3-5 years of Contract experience
    • Good organizational skills, including program/project management governance.
    • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills.
    • Experience with Supplier management. Ability to develop actionable implementation plans.
    • Relevant business process knowledge, as related to Procurement and Category Management. Extensive knowledge of category technologies and products.
    • Strong influence and negotiating skills.
    • Experience leading teams - both with direct staff and indirect project teams.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Medical Devices Industry Experience
    • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or similar certification desirable
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification desirable

    The base pay for this position is

    $99,300.00 – $198,700.00

    In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
