Responsibilities:

Job Summary: As a Sourcing Manager II, you'll support H-E-B's strategic initiative as an expert in indirect spend sourcing, leading category strategies, competitive sourcing events, supplier negotiations, and value creation initiatives across non-resale goods and services. You'll serve as a subject matter expert and strategic business partner, helping stakeholders optimize cost, reduce risk, improve service, and deliver sustainable business value. 
 
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: 

  • Management:  
  • Leads planning, execution, and oversight of strategic sourcing initiatives across indirect spend categories such as professional services, technology, facilities, MRO, logistics, marketing, and other enterprise services 
  • Conducts RFx events; negotiates and implements high-value supplier agreements; continuously improves event structure, commercial outcomes, and stakeholder alignment 
  • Assists in development of multi-year category strategies; proactively provides supply market intelligence, category trends, and risk insights; ensures execution of roadmaps to achieve financial and operational targets 
  • Independently identifies, develops, and implements cost-saving and value-creation opportunities across assigned spend categories 
  • Evaluates commercial models, pricing structures, and total cost of ownership to recommend optimal sourcing and negotiation approaches 
  • Applies understanding of / articulates H-E-B Sourcing goals, objectives, and Sourcing's value proposition 
  • Actively engages suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve service levels, drive process efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance supplier performance 
  • Applies understanding of contract terms, service level agreements, compliance requirements, and commercial risk to recommend appropriate sourcing strategies and supplier decisions 
  • Proactively contributes to the development of strategies, processes, and solutions that improve enterprise buying effectiveness and support business transformation goals 
  • Supports business partners in improving outcomes through enhanced procurement processes, supplier strategy, and detailed financial analysis and interpretation 
  • Applies knowledge of procurement policies, contracting standards, supplier governance, and relevant legal or regulatory requirements for indirect spend categories 
  • Performs Sourcing Manager I duties 
  • Training / Mentoring:  
  • Provides ad hoc education, training, and informal mentoring to Partners 
  • May facilitate training in strategic sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, and procurement best practices for internal teams and business stakeholders

Qualifications & Key Requirements: 
 
Work Experience: 

  • of sourcing / importing experience / process knowledge - 
  • Experience in international travel - 
  • Fluency in multiple languages - 

 
 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and sourcing / procurement tools (e.g., spend analytics, eSourcing, contract management, BI) - 
  • Strong knowledge of cost drivers, pricing models, statement of work structure, and total cost of ownership across indirect spend categories - 
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, supplier capabilities, risk factors, and commercial considerations relevant to indirect spend categories - 
  • Strong verbal / written communication skills - 
  • Strong crisis-management skills - 
  • Strong organization skills - 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with and influence stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams -

Education: 

  • Bachelors or related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience -
