Description:
We are seeking a Software Research Engineer with strong C++ development and algorithm optimization experience to work on next-generation networking technologies. The project focuses on developing an Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) networking infrastructure for an O-RAN-compatible private 5G network deployment.
The role will also involve co-developing UE-side applications and O-RAN-side radio resource control algorithms in the form of xApps to demonstrate performance improvements through cross-layer optimization.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize software components using C++.
- Develop and implement algorithms for networking and communication systems.
- Analyze and optimize algorithms for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
- Contribute to the development of O-RAN networking infrastructure.
- Work with private 5G network technologies and architectures.
- Develop and integrate UE-side applications with O-RAN-side components.
- Design and develop radio resource control algorithms and xApps.
- Explore cross-layer optimization techniques to improve application and network performance.
- Conduct research, prototyping, testing, and performance evaluation of new software and algorithms.
- Collaborate with software, networking, and engineering teams to integrate research concepts into working solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex software and networking issues.
- Document technical designs, algorithms, research findings, and implementation approaches.
Required Skills:
- Strong hands-on C++ development experience.
- Strong algorithm development and optimization experience.
- Excellent understanding of software development principles and data structures.
- Experience with performance optimization and computational efficiency.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work on complex research-oriented software development projects.
- Understanding of networking and communication systems is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Ph.D. degree preferred in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience developing software using C++ in research, engineering, or production environments.
- Experience with algorithm design, implementation, and optimization.
- Strong ability to work on technically complex and innovative projects.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) deployment.
- Experience with private 5G networks.
- Knowledge of O-RAN architecture and xApps.
- Experience with radio resource control algorithms.
- Experience with cross-layer optimization in wireless or networking systems.
