Software Engineer II

OVERVIEW:

Supports the design, specification, and development of application solutions to solve routine to moderately complex problems and enhancements. Serves as an effective individual contributor, utilizing analytical and technical skills along with available technology and tools to evaluate requirements and processes. Delivers solutions that are technically sound and well-documented. Completes day-to-day support activities and assists on project tasks under the guidance of senior staff.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete systems analysis, design, and development tasks for small to moderate-scope features or enhancements.
• Play an active role as an individual contributor on project teams, maintaining a good functional understanding of supported applications.
• Collaborate effectively with team members, sharing knowledge and coordinating development tasks with peers.
• Support the preparation of technical components of project plans and track progress against milestones.
• Participate with Development, Operations, and Technology staff in systems development, from technical analysis to user acceptance testing.
• Prepare and execute detailed test plans, review test data, and complete required debugging and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate and understand interrelationships among programs, interfacing applications, and platforms with guidance from senior engineers.
• Prepare clear technical and functional specifications, system documentation, charts, tables, and diagrams to assist in analyzing problems.
• Maintain efficient operation and effectiveness of supported applications through routine maintenance and issue resolution.
• Propose process improvements or recommend adjustments to benefit application performance and address identified deficiencies.
• Follow and promote the use of standard development procedures and coding standards.
• Build a solid understanding of the business being supported and its core functions, processes, and operations.
• Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues and escalate them to management.
• Maintain internal control standards, including timely support for audit remediation points as applicable.
• Complete other related duties or projects as required.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The position works under the regular supervision of a Technology Team Lead or Senior Engineer.
• The job holder is competent to work independently on standard technical phases of development and moderate systems analysis, with guidance available for complex or high-risk architectural decisions.
• Interacts regularly with other technology personnel, clients, and internal teams to support project delivery.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum of an Associate s degree and 1 3 years of systems analysis or application development experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 3 years of higher education and/or practical work experience.
• Familiarity with application development software, hardware platforms, and development tools.
• Proficiency with personal computers, project management basics, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
• Capable of working on multiple tasks or small-to-medium projects with varying priorities.
• Strong problem-solving skills to assist in issue resolution and debugging.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and detail-oriented skills.
• Experience collaborating with technical teams and business units to implement solutions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• Basic understanding of the Bank's application framework.
• Familiarity with the specific application/system being supported.
• Experience with interfacing or integrated applications.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as autonomously on routine tasks.
• Action-oriented, pro-active attitude with an eagerness to learn and grow technically.
