Senior Software Engineer – Control Room Simulator (Remote)

Location: 100% Remote (Contiguous US) with occasional business travel as required.

We are looking for an experienced developer to help build, refine, and maintain high-impact software powering our control room simulator environments. You will play a vital role in delivering production-ready, client-server software solutions where uptime, safety, and performance are top priorities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Develop & Innovate: Design, build, test, and maintain robust software applications supporting control room simulators and related technical platforms.

• Problem Solve: Diagnose complex software defects, engineer reliable solutions, and identify root causes to maximize system reliability and performance.

• Drive Quality: Write clean, maintainable code following strict configuration management and software QA standards.

• Collaborate & Lead: Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to vet architectures, review code, and deliver scalable, high-quality features.

• Hands-On Setup: Manage local and remote hardware configurations (workstations, displays, networking) as needed, with limited paid travel to company facilities.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Education: B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Programming, or a related technical discipline. (Degrees in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering with 5+ years of proven software deliverables will also be considered.)

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on professional software engineering experience, ideally focused on high-uptime, customer-facing, or client-server systems.

• Core Technical Stack:

  • Strong proficiency with C#, WPF, SQL, Visual Studio, and Git/GitLab.

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and performance optimization.

  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and distributed architecture.

• Regulatory Compliance: Must be eligible to work under U.S. Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 regulations.
