    Description

    We are looking for a Mid-Level Snowflake Developer / Data Engineer

    We are seeking a Mid-Level Snowflake Developer / Data Engineer to support a major modernization initiative migrating the company’s data backend from SQL Server to Snowflake. You’ll work directly alongside a Snowflake Architect and Senior Developers, helping build and implement the new data platform. This is a hands-on development role for someone with strong, recent Snowflake experience who wants to work on a large-scale migration and modern data architecture.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support the migration of SQL Server data, ETL processes, and business logic to Snowflake.
    • Develop and optimize complex Snowflake SQL and ETL/ELT pipelines.
    • Translate legacy SQL Server processes into efficient, scalable Snowflake solutions.
    • Build and maintain Snowflake objects, data transformations, and pipelines.
    • Assist with data modeling, performance optimization, data validation, and troubleshooting.
    • Work closely with the Architect to implement Snowflake architecture and establish development best practices.
    • Help ensure the new platform can scale with rapidly increasing data volumes.
    • Participate in code reviews, testing, deployments, and documentation.

    Required Skills:

    • 3–6 years of Data Engineering / Data Development experience.
    • Strong, hands-on Snowflake experience.
    • Advanced SQL skills.
    • Experience with SQL Server and relational databases.
    • Experience with ETL/ELT and data migration.
    • Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modeling.
    • Experience with Snowflake performance and cost optimization.
    • Ability to work hands-on with an Architect and translate architectural decisions into production solutions.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Direct SQL Server → Snowflake migration experience.
    • Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, or Dynamic Tables.
    • AWS / S3.
    • Python.
    • dbt or similar ETL/ELT tools.
    • Git / CI/CD.

    What We're NOT Looking For:

    • Candidates whose primary experience is Databricks with limited Snowflake experience.
    • Candidates who have primarily used Snowflake as a reporting or BI layer.
    • Candidates with only light or occasional Snowflake exposure.
