Qualifications:Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Marketing/Communications, Program administration, Recruiting, trades skills: masonry, woodworking or other trade crafts. Experience in military/veteran recruitment or military-related program administration is highly preferred, as is experience working as a federal employee, ideally in the National Park Service. OR HS/GED Degree - Familiarity with the Department of Defense SkillBridge program and its policies. Understanding of military procedures, systems, language, etc. that can assist in the translation of timelines, skillsets, occupational series, etc. to civilian understanding that will meet HPTC SkillBridge program needs. Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint, Adobe Acrobat DC. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Duties:Enrollee is responsible for member support for the Historic Preservation Training Center?s SkillBridge Program. SkillBridge participants are military service members completing their last 180 days of active duty service. At HPTC, SkillBridge members work alongside masonry, wood-crafting, and carpentry preservation crews to practice traditional trades skills and contribute to historic preservation projects. This Enrollee will recruit HPTC SkillBridge members, provide support for existing members, and help members transition to their next professional experience once completing their HPTC experience. - Recruitment: Assists with the creation of external marketing and recruitment materials to encourage qualified military members to apply to HPTC SkillBridge. Visits local military base to attend career fairs, meet with local recruiters and interested military members. 40%
- Placement: Determines eligibility of SkillBridge applicants to a range of HPTC positions. Answers general questions about the program from the public and refers individuals to the correct contact or information appropriate for their question. Reviews applications and makes basic qualifications determinations for a full range of commonly filled positions. Counsels, advises and furnishes assistance in administration as it relates to staffing and placement functions that apply to SkillBridge. 15%
- Existing Member Support: Meets indiviaully or as a group, virtually or in-person with current HPTC SkillBridge members to talk through learning opportunities, challenges, successes and goals. Develops and provides training materials and support on how to translate military skills to non-military professions and well as other tricks and tips for navigating this transition. 40%
- SkillBridge Program Administration and Data Management: Works with HPTC Staff and SkillBridge participants to ensure all onboarding, offboarding, and administrative paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Set up and enforce system to ensure proper data and PII management and storage according to NPS policy. 5%
Other:- Required Certifications: Proof of military status
- Overnight travel: Potentially 2 times per year for 5 days each trip
- Air travel anticipated: If the enrollee?s home is not close to a base, then they may travel 2-3 times per year to a military base
- Health and Safety Considerations: If member support requires the enrollee to accompany a SkillBridge participant onsite, they will be held to the same safety standards and HPTC staff and interns and will depend on the project and site, but may require training such as OSHA 10, or gear like specific personal protective equipment.
- Required Safety Gear: If on-site shadowing SkillBridge participants, the enrollee is required to wear and maintain personal protective equipment, as the work requires, including but not limited to, hard hats, safety toed boots, gloves, goggles, fall protection harness, and a variety of respirator types. The enrollee may work off the ground on ladders, scaffolds and on the structural framework of buildings.
- Physical requirements: The physical effort required is considered moderate to low. The majority of work requires regular and continuous focus on a computer screen, occasional standing up to 8 hours while presenting or recruiting, and some operation and surveillance of shop functions and work in the field. Minimal on-sight work may require considerable physical exertion related to actions such as recurring lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying of objects over 50 lbs and of various sizes and shapes.
