8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Monday - Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required, as necessary.
Primary Purpose of Position
- Serve as site coordinator for Physics Undergraduate Laboratory Facilities, supporting the overall operation of instructional lab spaces.
- Assist with the setup, delivery, and teaching of undergraduate physics laboratory sessions, including serving as a backup TA and covering for absent instructors when needed.
- Oversee laboratory equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and inventory management to ensure safe and reliable operations.
- Develop and revise laboratory manuals, experiments, and demonstrations in collaboration with faculty and instructors, aligned with current educational research, pedagogy, and guidelines.
- Train, schedule, and supervise teaching assistants, and provide ongoing instructional support to students.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and coordinate the resolution of building and research laboratory issues with relevant staff.
- Coordinate and facilitate the resolution of building and laboratory issues related to Physics operations through effective communication with appropriate staff and departments.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and assist in addressing safety-related concerns within research and teaching spaces.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Physics researchers regarding building, laboratory, and operational issues.
- Receive, organize, and notify Physics staff of incoming deliveries and shipments within the building.
- Support research operations through the maintenance, troubleshooting, and user support of research and core laboratory equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of general research experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
