We are seeking a hands-on SIS Data Architect to support a large-scale ERP transformation within a higher education environment. This role will focus on enterprise data architecture, migration strategy, governance, integrations, and reporting enablement as the organization transitions from a legacy student information system to a modern SaaS platform.
This is a highly visible role working across business, technical, and leadership teams to design scalable data solutions and support long-term analytics and operational goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise data architecture and migration strategy efforts.
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Support large-scale ERP/SIS data conversion and transformation initiatives.
- Define data governance standards, data quality processes, and lifecycle management practices.
- Architect integrations across enterprise systems including reporting, CRM, LMS, and identity management platforms.
- Support analytics, reporting, and AI/data enablement initiatives.
- Partner with PMO teams, business stakeholders, and technical teams throughout the transformation lifecycle.
- Drive scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions across the enterprise ecosystem.
Required Experience
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data roles.
- Strong experience with:
- Data modeling.
- ETL/ELT processes.
- SQL and data warehousing.
- Cloud data platforms.
- Data governance and data quality strategies.
- Enterprise integrations and APIs.
- Experience leading complex enterprise data migration initiatives.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting enterprise reporting and analytics environments.
Preferred Experience
- Higher education ERP or SIS experience.
- Experience with Ellucian Banner or Colleague.
- SaaS transformation experience.
- Experience with enterprise data governance initiatives.
- Experience supporting regulatory or compliance reporting environments.
