Shift Manager Maintenance

Location Dearborn MICleveland-Cliffs Steel has an open opportunity for a Shift Manager Maintenance at our Dearborn Works location.The Shift Manager Maintenance leads a team of skilled trades employees to ensure the reliability of our mechanical equipment through preventative maintenance and directing maintenance personnel as needed in response to breakdowns.Summary of ResponsibilitiesSupervise maintenance employees on assigned shift.Maximize employee utilization developing skills and abilities via training.Drive continuous improvement through the maintenance organization in health safety and environmental quality.Maintain equipment to ensure proper function and reliability.Assist in developing continuous improvement plans.Develop short-term maintenance plans.Ensure safety and environmental guidelines are met and coached to hourly employees.All other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsMechanicalelectricaland supervisory experience within a heavy industrial environment required.Must have strongmechanicalelectricalaptitude and troubleshooting abilities.Strong leadership negotiation interpersonal and communications skills.Must have good computer skills MS Office Suite.Preferred QualificationsBachelors degree.Experience managing in a union environment.Due to the nature of our 247 365 days a-year operation candidates are required to be willing to work any shift any day of the week including nights weekends and holidays.Cleveland-Cliffs is a leading North America-based steel producer with focus on value-added sheet products particularly for the automotive industry.
