Job Summary
The Back of House Shift Leader is responsible for leading kitchen operations during assigned shifts. This role ensures food is prepared safely, efficiently, and to brand standards while coaching the BOH team, maintaining cleanliness, and executing systems consistently. The BOH Shift Leader is the on-duty kitchen leader and plays a key role in food safety, quality, and team development.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the BOH team during assigned shifts
- Ensure food quality, accuracy, and speed of execution
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
- Deploy BOH labor effectively to meet business needs
- Complete prep, line execution, and closing duties as assigned
- Coach and train BOH team members in real time
- Hold team accountable to recipes, procedures, and standards
- Communicate shift results, issues, and needs to leadership
Experience
- 3+ year Back of House, kitchen, or food service experience preferred
- Prior leadership or shift lead experience required
- Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Skills
- Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
