Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Workforce Strategy Consultant for a hybrid opportunity in Washington, D.C. This role is designed for an experienced workforce analytics and human capital consultant who can combine quantitative analysis, workforce strategy, and responsible AI practices to solve complex client challenges.

You will work directly with clients to turn workforce data into practical strategies involving areas such as workforce planning, pay equity, retention, talent mobility, labor market analysis, and reskilling. The position requires both strong technical capabilities and the ability to communicate sophisticated analytical findings to business and HR leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop workforce analytics solutions by combining business research, statistical analysis, machine learning, and AI-enabled approaches.
  • Build and support analytical models and data products, including workforce forecasts, skills frameworks, retention risk models, and internal mobility solutions.
  • Lead analytical workstreams within client engagements, from defining the methodology through presenting findings and developing implementation plans.
  • Conduct pay equity studies, strategic workforce planning, labor market research, and related workforce analyses.
  • Evaluate the financial and organizational impact of workforce recommendations and help clients prioritize investments.
  • Develop dashboards, visualizations, presentations, and data-driven narratives that make complex findings accessible to senior stakeholders.
  • Apply responsible AI practices, including model validation, bias assessment, explainability, privacy considerations, and appropriate documentation.
  • Help develop reusable analytical frameworks, client solutions, proposals, and thought leadership related to AI-enabled workforce strategy.
  • Guide analytical projects from data acquisition and preparation through modeling, validation, visualization, and implementation recommendations.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant consulting experience in workforce strategy, HR analytics, labor economics, organizational psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Master's or PhD in economics, industrial-organizational psychology, statistics, data science, computer science, labor relations, or another quantitative field.
  • Professional experience with pay equity, workforce planning, labor market analysis, or comparable workforce consulting projects.
  • Strong statistical and machine learning capabilities, including regression, causal inference, time-series analysis, clustering, and predictive modeling.
  • Proficiency with tools and programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
  • Experience using data visualization platforms such as Tableau.
  • Ability to analyze large, complex datasets and convert analytical findings into practical business recommendations.
  • Strong client communication, presentation, storytelling, and project leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience incorporating generative AI, machine learning, or other emerging AI technologies into consulting or workforce analytics.
  • Ability to assess AI solutions based on factors such as accuracy, speed, explainability, privacy, and governance.
  • Strong implementation orientation with the ability to move clients from analytical findings to measurable business actions.
  • Experience overseeing analytics projects across the full lifecycle, including data strategy, ingestion, modeling, validation, visualization, and deployment planning.
