This established public accounting firm in Chicago's western suburbs serves individuals, businesses, trusts, and high-net-worth clients, including clients with foreign and international reporting needs. Managers here handle every type of return rather than a single specialty.
The firm is hiring at two levels: Senior Tax Manager and Tax Manager. Both roles own the review of complex individual and business returns, serve as the main contact for a group of clients, and guide the staff and seniors on their engagements. The senior role adds foreign and international tax matters and a bigger share of complex research and planning.

- Own day-to-day relationships with an assigned client group and bring them planning and advisory ideas throughout the year
- Research complex federal, state, and local tax questions and recommend practical answers
- Supervise, review, and mentor the staff and seniors on your engagements
- Keep several engagements on track for timing, budget, and client communication
- Senior Tax Manager: handle foreign and international tax matters, partner with firm leadership on the most complex client situations, and help grow the tax practice
- Tax Manager: oversee financial statement compilations and reviews
What you bring- Senior Tax Manager: 7+ years in public accounting tax with steadily growing responsibility, including established time as a manager; deep review experience on complex business and individual returns; hands-on foreign and international tax experience; CPA preferred, with EA or JD also considered
- Tax Manager: 5+ years in public accounting, including tax; a bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA or EA
- Both levels: strong research and analytical skills, experience as a primary client contact, a record of developing staff, and the ability to explain complex tax issues in plain terms
Nice to haves- Form 990 and exempt organization experience (senior level)
