Senior Tax Accountant

We are seeking a Tax Accountant to join a collaborative Tax and Finance team supporting corporate and fund tax functions within an asset management environment. This role will focus on tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities across corporate entities and investment funds, while also contributing to automation and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Review federal tax filings, including Forms 1120 and 1120-RIC, along with supporting workpapers.
• Assist with state and local tax compliance, estimated payments, extensions, and notices.
• Support tax provisions, ASC 740 reporting, and financial statement tax disclosures.
• Review RIC qualification testing and assist with mutual fund and ETF distribution reporting.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external service providers, and auditors on tax matters.
• Support tax audits, notices, and other tax controversy activities.
• Participate in automation projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and controls.
• Analyze and reconcile tax data, identify issues, and document procedures and workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field.
• CPA or CPA candidate required.
• 3–6 years of tax accounting experience.
• Experience with corporate tax compliance, tax provisions, and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.

Compensation: $90,000–$110,000
Location: Hybrid schedule based in Chicago.
