Senior Software Engineer

Position Summary
  • Join the Sensors Test Engineering team supporting production of commercial, military, and defense sensor products.
  • Lead the definition, design, development, troubleshooting, and integration of test software for production test solutions.
  • Serve as an expert individual contributor working with engineers and technicians in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the research, design, development, and testing of software solutions and networks.
  • Troubleshoot software and electrical device issues on the production line.
  • Provide strategic engineering guidance on design concepts, requirements, equipment utilization, and coding techniques.
  • Collaborate with engineers, operators, and technicians in a team environment.
  • Design and review major functional test software components and present findings.
  • Develop processes, procedures, and best practices for test software development in manufacturing.
  • Present project and technical information during design reviews to peers, management, and customers.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and minimum 6 years of relevant experience, or
    • Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 4 years of experience, or
    • 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Required technical skills:
    • C
    • C++
    • Visual Basic
    • Visual C++
    • Visual Studio
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of Visual Basic (VB) programming.
  • Experience with LabVIEW.
  • Familiarity with RF and digital electronics.
  • Understanding of software-controlled test equipment, including:
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Digital multimeters
    • Signal generators
    • Power supplies
    • Thermal chambers
  • Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing environments and AS9100.
  • Familiarity with avionics buses including:
    • MIL-STD-1553
    • ARINC
    • CAN
    • RS485
    • RS232
    • IEEE 1394
  • Familiarity with ALM JIRA and Agile project management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Nice-to-have programming experience:
    • Java
    • JavaScript
