DevOps Release Engineer II
Remote role supporting our client's 9:AM to 5:00 CST office.

Our client is seeking a DevOps Release Engineer II to manage and optimize software release processes, CI/CD pipelines, build infrastructure, and DevOps tooling. This role will support development, QA, and operations teams by troubleshooting builds and deployments, administering DevOps tools, and ensuring reliable, secure release environments.

Release & Deployment Management

• Plan, coordinate, and execute software releases across multiple environments.
• Deploy applications and automate deployment processes where possible.
• Troubleshoot build and deployment issues and support developers with resolution.
• Maintain release readiness, rollback strategies, and environment stability.
• Schedule and coordinate releases with development and QA teams.

DevOps Tool Administration

• Perform basic administration, configuration, access management, and troubleshooting across tools including GitLab, TeamCity, Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira, Confluence, Perforce, Bitbucket, Fortify, SonarQube, Docker, Crowd, Fisheye, Nexus, and SVN.
• Create and manage GitLab repositories, runners, builds, and access permissions.
• Configure and troubleshoot TeamCity builds, agents, and pipelines.
• Execute and troubleshoot Fortify scans and manage related tokens and automated uploads.
• Manage Artifactory access, repositories, packages, and artifact-related issues.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation in Confluence.

Infrastructure & Build Environment

• Manage and troubleshoot Windows and Linux build agents and servers.
• Perform basic system administration, including disk-space and environment-related troubleshooting.
• Manage server certificates, including installation and verification.
• Manage virtual machines using vSphere.
• Configure and troubleshoot Docker containers and images.
• Support authentication and access management through Okta.

Scripting & Build Technologies

• Develop scripts and API integrations using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
• Work with MSBuild for Windows-based builds.
• Support Java/Maven build environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Release Engineering, Build Engineering, or a related role.
• Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms, particularly GitLab, TeamCity, and Jenkins.
• Experience administering and troubleshooting enterprise DevOps tools and build infrastructure.
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux environments.
• Experience with vSphere, virtual machines, Docker, certificates, and build agents.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar.
• Familiarity with Okta, identity management, and access controls.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
