Senior Software Engineer

Overview of Opportunity

Two Six Technologies is hiring a Senior Software Developer to support the customer's mission-essential applications within an Agile Team. The developer will be responsible for the development and support of high-performance Go-based multi-domain platforms, leveraging a distributed database and messaging infrastructure on a decentralized compute mesh.

Location: Arlington, Va

What you will do:

• Implement complex platform architectures including, but not limited to, distributed or decentralized topologies, scalable and efficient data fabric, APIs, message queuing and event streaming, secure authentication and authorization, and containerization and orchestration.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality, reusable, and highly concurrent code.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex distributed systems issues, including performance optimization, latency reduction, and database query tuning.
• Provide continuous maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing data pipelines and backend systems.
• Provide customer support for software systems and application issues.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our backend architecture.

What you will need:

• Minimum of 5+ years of Software Development experience, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang), including experience with concurrent programming, Goroutines, and microservices architecture.
• Deep understanding of Distributed Systems, including fault-tolerant design, event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and service mesh or discovery tools.
• Strong proficiency with Databases, including advanced relational schema design (e.g., PostgreSQL), NoSQL solutions (e.g., DynamoDB, Cassandra), and distributed caching (e.g., Redis).

Security Clearance:

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
