Role:  Senior SAP Functional Analyst
Location: Washington, DC (Remote)
Job Type: 6+ Months Contract

Position Summary:
The Senior SAP Functional Analyst is responsible for supporting, configuring, enhancing, and maintaining SAP solutions utilized across the organization. This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring SAP applications effectively support business operations and strategic objectives. The analyst will lead requirements gathering, system configuration, testing, issue resolution, and production support activities across SAP environments including SAP ERP, SCM, SRM, CRM, Ariba, and SuccessFactors.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing production support, including incident management, break-fix resolution, planned releases, and emergency support activities.
  • Configure and maintain SAP applications based on business requirements and operational needs.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application issues while coordinating with technical teams when necessary.
  • Gather, document, and manage business requirements through structured analysis and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop detailed functional specifications and collaborate with technical resources on development, testing, and implementation activities.
  • Support multiple business processes and recommend process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Participate in feasibility studies for new projects, system enhancements, and business initiatives.
  • Assist in solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
  • Develop and execute test plans, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and validate testing outcomes.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, knowledge base articles, user guides, and training materials.
  • Monitor system performance and customer satisfaction metrics and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Escalate critical issues appropriately and coordinate with internal and external support teams.
  • Support project status reporting and contribute to project planning activities.
  • Promote understanding of IT processes, SAP capabilities, and best practices across business units.
  • Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance to team members on SAP functionality and support processes.
     

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of SAP Functional Analyst experience supporting enterprise SAP environments.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more SAP solutions including:
    • SAP ERP
    • SAP SCM
    • SAP SRM
    • SAP CRM
    • SAP Ariba
    • SAP SuccessFactors
  • Strong experience in SAP configuration, requirements gathering, testing, and production support.
  • Proven ability to analyze business processes and translate requirements into functional solutions.
  • Experience writing functional specifications and collaborating with technical development teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP certification(s) in relevant functional modules.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise SAP implementations.
  • Knowledge of SAP integration methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience working in transportation, logistics, public sector, or large enterprise environments.
  • Prior experience mentoring junior analysts and leading functional initiatives.
