Senior Project Manager + Civil Construction + Omaha
If you're an experienced civil construction professional who likes to own a project from the estimate through final closeout, this is an opportunity to join our client, a well-established contractor, where you can have real impact. This is a hands-on Senior Project Manager role overseeing significant civil and structural projects throughout the Omaha area. You'll have autonomy over your work, direct access to partner with leadership and the opportunity to be part of a family-minded organization where people genuinely care about the business and the work they put their name on.
What You'll Do
- Manage heavy civil projects from initial estimating and preconstruction through completion and closeout
- Handle estimating, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting and overall project execution
- Partner closely with field leadership and crews to keep projects moving safely and efficiently
- Manage structural scopes including concrete, bridges, box culverts, retaining walls, poured/placed walls and underground work
- Build strong working relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors and internal teams
- Stay involved in the day-to-day details and step in wherever needed to solve problems
- Help identify opportunities to improve processes and support the continued growth of the business
What They're Looking For
- Significant heavy civil construction project management experience
- Strong structures experience is required, which may include structural concrete, bridges, box culverts, retaining walls, underground/concrete structures, poured walls or similar work
- Experience managing projects from beginning to end
- Hands-on estimating experience
- Bachelor's degree required; Civil Engineering is preferred, although Construction Management or a related field will be considered
- Ability to effectively manage multiple large projects simultaneously
- A track record that demonstrates stability and a desire to invest in an organization long term
- Growth-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and pride in the business
- Willingness to be accessible when field crews need support outside traditional business hours while maintaining a healthy respect for family time
- Experience with HCSS/Heavy Civil Construction Software is a plus.
