Description

Our client, a Commercial Banking company, is looking for a Senior Product Owner for their Charlotte NC / Atlanta GA location.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead their delivery team’s priorities in PI planning, sprint planning, and other agile ceremonies; aligned to larger experience platform priorities and vision
  • Clearly articulate product strategy to the delivery team
  • Deliver new experiences by working directly with delivery, experience design, business, and operations partners to design new products and improvements to existing capabilities
  • Author and maintain the team’s backlog of user stories and serve as a subject matter expert on features, user stories, and product capabilities
  • Perform triage on critical issues and communicate consistently and clearly with all concerned parties
  • Serve as key resource to development team to answer questions, provide clarifications, and conduct and coordinate business validation
  • Update leadership on the epic and feature delivery schedule, including dependencies impacting deliverables, along with recommended solutions
  • Partners with solution architects and other technical leads to ensure their solutions effectively address program priorities while balancing client experience and technical integrity
  • Facilitate sprint planning with stakeholder groups to drive alignment and visibility for which features will be built when, and to ensure overall adherence to the product roadmap and enterprise strategic themes
  • Facilitate sprint demos and provide final acceptance for completed user stories in sprint demos; ensuring that the story meets acceptance criteria and otherwise meets its definition of done
  • Coordinate the creation of release-specific business documents, such as support model definitions, go/no-go approvals, internal release notes, and release-related living documents
  • Risk management: As needed, ensure all Product Management Lifecycle (PML) process & procedures are followed, supporting security, risk, audit, and more, and ensure action items and deadlines are met.
  • Lead mobile app product execution for iOS and Android experiences, including mobile-specific discovery, backlog refinement, release readiness, and deployment coordination.
  • Translate wholesale clients and teammate needs into mobile-first user stories with clear acceptance criteria for UX, accessibility, performance, telemetry, security, entitlements, authentication, and servicing workflows.
  • Partner with mobile engineering, QA, experience design, architecture, security/risk, operations, and web/core platform teams to manage dependencies across APIs, shared components, entitlements, payments, and treasury-management capabilities.
  • Support release communications, UAT/business validation, pilot coordination, and go/no-go decisions for mobile app releases.
 
Requirements:
  • Experience with mobile banking, treasury management, commercial payments, or corporate cash-management experience.
  • Familiarity with mobile UX best practices, accessibility standards, design systems, analytics instrumentation, and app performance/stability metrics.
  • Experience supporting mobile app release management, including phased rollout, pilot groups, app-store or enterprise release coordination, and production-readiness activities.
  • Experience with client-facing digital servicing, entitlements/permissions, authentication, alerts/notifications, or money-movement workflows.
  • Initial/Primary Project Name(s): Wholesale Digital - Foundations & Money Movement
  • Business Initiative/Purpose: Ongoing enhancement of client One View Mobile app
  • Project Team Size/Makeup:15-member product team of PMs and POs. This PO will support a ~10 member iOS and Android scrum team consisting of scrum master, engineers, and QA (mix of onshore an offshore). Part of a large ART with 12 web teams, 12 core teams, 4 mobile teams.
  • Five or more years of banking, financial services, digital, or other relevant work experience
  • Three or more years of product, analysis, technology, and/or design experience
  • Three or more years of leading cross functional teams
  • Experience defining and delivering business initiatives to execute on a product roadmap
  • Demonstrated technical acumen and an ability to work with the technology organization to align product and technology roadmaps
  • Ability to translate strategic plans into tactical daily actions for execution
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Comfortable managing concurrent projects in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, leading work autonomously, and making independent decisions
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret data and trends, diagnose problems, and recommend action plans to resolve issues
  • Excellent skills in presentation, facilitation, communication, and negotiation
  • Experience with commercial payments, treasury management, and/or wholesale banking
  • Hands-on experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager for mobile applications, preferably iOS/Android banking, financial services, treasury, or commercial digital platforms.
  • Strong understanding of the mobile app delivery lifecycle, including discovery, story writing, acceptance criteria, QA/UAT, release planning, defect triage, analytics, accessibility, and performance considerations.
  • Experience working with mobile engineering teams and cross-platform dependencies across APIs, authentication, entitlements, payments, notifications, and shared service platforms.
  • 5+ years’ experience working as a Product Manager/Owner working with agile teams developing banking or financial services software
  • Master’s degree in business, engineering, design, or technology field; banking or financial management education
  • Experience working with distributed teams (onshore/offshore)
  • Familiarity with The Silicon Valley Product Group's Product Model
  • Certified Safe® Product Owner/Product Manager (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated thought leadership in the Product Management field
