    Company Overview (www.modulo.bio )

Modulo Bio is a neuroimmunology company that harnesses the power of machine learning, patient iPSC derived cellular modeling and large scale CRISPR screening to develop therapies for neurodegenerative diseases like ALS and Frontotemporal dementia that currently have no effective treatments. Our team specializes in integrating powerful tools like stem cell engineering, multiomics data analysis, and high-throughput automation to discover and modulate neural cells into disease-context and patient-specific protective states.

    Overview

Modulo Bio is seeking a Senior/Principal Scientist to build and lead a research group focused on induced-pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-based in vitro model and technology development. This new team will help to enable Modulo's proprietary immune cell modeling platform, which incorporates human genetics, functional genomics, molecular biology, cellular and tissue profiling, disease model engineering, and advanced computational methodology.

The successful candidate will build a complex cell model platform with the goal of improving our understanding of human biology and therapeutic interventions to inform early and late stage pipeline efforts. Candidates with an eagerness to work within a highly leveraged, team-driven, dynamic research environment will be prioritized. The candidate will work in close collaboration with our internal Computational Biology group which is focused on next-generation sequencing (NGS), functional genomics, cell or tissue profiling, and bioinformatics analyses of cutting-edge large-scale genetic screening or single-cell technologies to enhance our analytic capabilities and to reveal the underlying mechanisms of human disease.

Expertise developing and/or applying iPSC in vitro systems is critical. Cell line and organoid experience is a plus. Practical experience with in vitro model development for neurodegeneration, neurological disorders, or regenerative medicine is desirable.
