  • Workson the mathematical optimization model attheheart of a task assignment model adhering to some complex work rules
  • Formulate and maintaintheMIP
  • Translatereal businessrules into formulation with planners
  • Drive themodelthrough the FICO Xpress Java API,generate/inspect .lp files and solverlogs.
  • Tunethe solver; mip-gap, mip-abs-gap, threads,randomseed, determinism;reasonabout branch-and-bound performanceand runtime.
  • Keepthemodel solver-agnostic behindthe LinearExpression / LinearConstraint / Sense /Sign abstraction soit staystestable and portable.
  • Validate & benchmark solutions
  • Analyze data stored in AzureADLStodebug themodeland findissues;mine input/outputdatasets andsolver logs to surfacedata-qualityandinfeasibility problems, derive insights, diagnoserootcauses, and resolve modeling bugs (e.g., bad defaults, constraint conflicts).
  • Build and maintainthe Streamlit dashboard(Python) that visualizesoptimizer solutions - code and ship changesdirectly.
  • Work fluently with AI coding agents(Claude/ Copilot /similar) to prototype and changemodels, scripts, and thedashboard fast without lowering the bar oncorrectness orcode quality.
  • Partner closely as a teamplayer with the Javaengineer to productionize themodeland with planners/SMEs to capture andverify rules; documentassumptionsandlimitations.

  • Commercial solverexperience; FICO Xpress (stronglypreferred) or Gurobi/CPLEX/OR-Tools/Hexaly, including solvertuning (gaps, threads, seeds, determinism) andreading solver logs/.lp files.
  • Programming to implement model & visualizemodel solutions; Java (themodellives inJava behind a solverabstraction); Python (incl. Streamlit for thedashboard); ableto code and ship changes in both programming languages.
  • Also required:
  • Comfortableusing AI coding agents(Claude/Copilot) for fastchanges; high codingstandards; a collaborative teamplayer (open toideas/feedback, no solo work);a fastlearner.

  • Java21 / SpringBoot familiarity; clean/hexagonal model design (ports & adapters); TDD (JUnit5) foroptimizationmodels(LP-file integration tests); scheduling/assignment/routing problem experience; heuristics/metaheuristics/CP as complements toMIP; dataanalysis & debugging;mining datasets (incl. AzureADLS) andsolver logs to findissues and derive insights;data wrangling (CSV/Excel/SQL); Git/GitHub, MongoDB Compass, Maven,Docker; aviation / MRO domain.
