Senior Mainframe Developer

Solid understanding of code migration and release management processes, including package creation, code promotion across Development, Test, QA, and Production environments, along with post-deployment validation and backout procedures. Troubleshoot production issues, optimize application performance, conduct code reviews, and support SIT, UAT, production deployments, and post-implementation activities.

Our client, a IT Services and Consulting company, is looking for a Senior Mainframe Developer for their Remote location.
 
Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement technical solutions for Healthcare Claims applications by transforming business requirements into scalable, efficient, and compliant mainframe systems.
• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain mainframe claims applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and MQ following established coding standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, project managers, and support teams to deliver high-quality solutions and ensure successful project execution.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to offshore team members, coordinate onsite-offshore activities, and act as a key contact for technical issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot production issues, optimize application performance, conduct code reviews, and support SIT, UAT, production deployments, and post-implementation activities.

 
Requirements:

• Mandatory skills: COBOL, DB2, MQ, CICS
• Strong experience in Mainframe technologies, COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS and MQ for application development.
• Experience with Healthcare Claims Adjudication processes and a strong understanding of related business workflows and operations.
• Solid understanding of code migration and release management processes, including package creation, code promotion across Development, Test, QA, and Production environments, along with post-deployment validation and backout procedures.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical and production support issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and offshore development teams.
• Experience working in Agile development environments and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team setting.
