Senior /Lead Java FSD developer

Deliver production-grade solutions by integrating agentic AI, LLMs/SLMs, MCP, RAG, agent orchestration frameworks, and automation to elevate how clients experience our products. Build end-to-end capabilities across a cloud-native stack— React + TypeScript/JavaScript on the front end and Java/Spring Boot microservices on the back end.

Our Client, an IT Services and Consultant company, is looking for a Senior /Lead Java FSD developer for their New York City, NY location.
 
Responsibilities:

• Deliver production-grade solutions by integrating agentic AI, LLMs/SLMs, MCP, RAG, agent orchestration frameworks, and automation to elevate how clients experience our products.
• Build end-to-end capabilities across a cloud-native stack— React + TypeScript/JavaScript on the front end and Java/Spring Boot microservices on the back end.
• Establish strong engineering practice through CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Spinnaker), automated testing and load testing (e.g., Blazemeter), and production observability/monitoring (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace).
• Design, deploy, and operate scalable, event-driven micros-services on AWS using Docker, Kubernetes, serverless compute, and messaging patterns.
• Partner with product, design, data, architecture, and risk/control stakeholders to deliver secure, stable, and scalable AI solutions that solve real business problems

 
Requirements:

• 12+ years professional software engineering experience; 3+ years architecting cloud-native services on AWS.
• Expert in Java 11+/17/21, SpringBoot, REST, JSON, OpenAPI, and asynchronous messaging (SNS/SQS/Kafka).
• Strong with integration patterns (sync/async), API versioning, backwards compatibility, schema evolution, and contract testing (Pact/WireMock).
• Nice to have: Python experience for LLM engineering and data processing (e.g., building small services, automation, and evaluation harnesses).
• Proficient with SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL/Aurora) and at least one NoSQL (DynamoDB/DocumentDB); caching with Redis.
• Proficient in CI/CD, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), Docker, and container orchestration (ECS/EKS).
• Solid observability (logs, metrics, traces) and performance tuning (JVM, DB, API latency, throughput).
• Security-first mindset: IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, WAF, CORS, CSP, input validation.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills.
• Preferred qualification, capabilities, & skills:
• Experience with micro frontends, CEN/XFS API’s, Terraform
• Exposure to Java, Spring Boot, RESTful, Dynamo
• Experience with Datadog, CloudWatch, Open Telemetry
• Knowledge of AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Gitub etc.) and prompt engineering for LLM’s
