A bit about us:
Our client is a well-established, multi-practice New York City law firm with deep roots in the immigrant communities it serves. Founded generations ago as an immigration-focused practice, the firm has grown into a full-service operation while never losing sight of its founding mission. Immigration law remains the core of the firm's identity, not a side offering, and the department continues to be led with the same hands-on, generational commitment that built the firm's reputation over more than six decades.
The firm operates from a single Manhattan office, steps from the federal buildings where many of its clients' cases are decided. It is recognized regionally for its longevity, community trust, and the personal relationships its attorneys build with the people they represent.
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to practice immigration law inside a firm where the work is genuinely central to the business, not a satellite department competing for resources. Attorneys here carry real caseloads and real responsibility from day one, working directly with firm leadership rather than being buried under layers of management.
Highlights include:
Deep institutional experience. Join a team with over a century of combined immigration law experience and a multi-generational track record in removal and deportation defense.
Meaningful caseload, not a volume mill. The firm intentionally manages its intake so attorneys can prepare thoroughly and stay closely engaged with each matter, rather than churning through files.
Multilingual, community-connected client base. The firm serves clients across numerous language communities, and attorneys who bring additional language skills are especially well positioned to build strong client relationships.
Direct access to leadership. Attorneys work closely with senior partners rather than through multiple layers of hierarchy, offering real mentorship and visibility.
Stability and reputation. A firm with decades of continuous operation, strong peer recognition, and a loyal referral base in the New York immigration community.
Onsite, in-person culture. For attorneys who want to be part of a close-knit team and build in-person client trust, this Manhattan office offers a collaborative, front-line litigation environment.
Job Details
5–7 years of immigration law experience required.
At least 80% of that experience must be concentrated in removal and deportation defense matters (immigration court litigation, bond hearings, appeals to the BIA, and related defensive practice).
Active license to practice law in New York State is required.
Must be willing and able to work fully onsite at the firm's Manhattan office; this is not a hybrid or remote role.
Spanish language proficiency is strongly preferred given the firm's client base, but is not a strict requirement for the right candidate.
Demonstrated ability to manage a substantive, independent caseload with minimal oversight.
Strong court presence and comfort with a high-stakes litigation calendar.
