DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under general supervision, is responsible for developing and administering examination projects used for Civil Service pre-employment and promotional examinations for City of Houston classified personnel. Assists with job analysis, examination writing, data collection and analysis, and quality control to ensure accuracy. Performs administrative tasks and related duties as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS
There are no major sources of discomfort. The position is performed in an essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, and air conditions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Science, Liberal Arts, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three years of related professional experience in human resources are required. Pertinent experience at the professional level may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a Master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or a related field.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Two years of experience designing, developing, and administering assessment exams in a business, non-profit, or municipal organization.
