ICON is looking for a Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to provide strategic partnership to organizational groups across ICONs growing teams. As a HRBP at ICON, you will be responsible for proactively engaging with stakeholders across your assigned areas of oversight and advising business leaders on topics related to human capital management, employee relations and talent development. Youll make a daily impact through scaling ICONs people and talent practices. This role is based at ICONs Austin, TX campus and will report to the VP of People on ICONs People team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Build and PRIME business unit leadership to translate key objectives into comprehensive human capital strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with leaders in assigned business areas. 
  • Partner with assigned groups to identify human capital management issues and propose solutions. 
  • Ensure that unit HR practices comply with applicable government contracting regulations and military technology sector standards.
  • Develop and operate performance management frameworks tailored to government contract lifecycle and project-based work requirements.
  • Support construction staffing partnerships and seasonal workforce planning.
  • Advise business leaders on organizational structures and growth plans. 
  • Contribute to the development and iteration of ICONs talent management practices including performance management, performance calibrations and succession planning.
  • Provide coaching to assigned groups, escalating learning and development needs to the people team. 
  • Manage employee relations matters within assigned areas including investigating concerns, guiding disciplinary actions and advising on the application of company policy. 
  • Lead performance review cycles for assigned business units. 
  • Lead talent reviews for assigned business units. 
  • Support people team initiatives including performance management, rewards cycles, succession and headcount planning. 
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations. 
  • Work with the People Operations group, Safety Manager and functional managers to develop appropriate accommodation and leave of absence plans and facilitate the interactive process for leave with accommodations.
  • Analyze and report on key People metrics for assigned areas. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of progressive human resources experience including at least 3 years as an HRBP to senior leadership. 
  • Prior experience as the HR representative for MilCon and/or MilTech contracts.
  • Ability to travel to construction project sites nationally  up to 25% of the time. 
  • Bachelors degree in business, human resources or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work strategically to align HR initiatives with business objectives. 
  • Demonstrated success consulting on human resources matters with cross-functional partners. 
  • Strong working knowledge of US employment law.
  • Proficiency with analyzing data in Excel/Google sheets.
  • Demonstrated business acumen.
