Minimum qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience working in consumer electronics products or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications

• 3 years of experience in embedded/mobile system design, hardware architecture, board design, board bring-up and product NPI.
• Experience with low power and battery powered embedded mobile designs.
• Experience with broad range of PCB technologies e.g. rigid, flex, rigid flex, etc.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Googles various computing, software platforms across environments, desktop, mobile applications as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software and hardware. Teams across this area research, design and develop new technologies to make our users interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus, equity, benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role level and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to develop hardware architecture for next generation systems.
• Design, implement, debug and characterize embedded systems geared for mobile applications.
• Lead new design concepts through exploration, prototyping, development and into mass production.
• Collaborate with other team members including software, mechanical engineering, industrial design and outside partners.
