Description

Location: 100% Remote (Anywhere in the USA), or onsite in NYC / Dallas. (No relocation offered; recent local projects are highly preferred).
Strict Candidate Parameters:
  • Enterprise Pedigree: Candidates must have recent experience working within very large, globally recognizable enterprise environments. Resumes lacking highly recognizable corporate brands will not be considered.
  • Domain Preference: Banking, Capital Markets, or Financial Services experience is highly preferred and these candidates will receive first priority.
  • Communication & Language: Candidates must have English as a first language (native speaker) with exceptional, crystal-clear communication skills for heavy stakeholder interaction.
  • Tenure & Stability: Candidates must demonstrate excellent career stability, highlighted by good tenure and a proven history of executing long-term projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • SQL Development: Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views to support business and reporting needs.
  • Data Integration: Partner closely with SSIS developers to support and troubleshoot ETL packages, data flows, and integration processes.
  • Reporting Architecture: Collaborate with Power BI developers to ensure data models and underlying SQL structures support efficient, accurate reporting and dashboarding.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform data profiling, validation, and quality checks across source and target systems.
  • Performance Optimization: Tune queries and indexes for performance across large, complex datasets.
  • Business Alignment: Translate business requirements into technical specifications in partnership with stakeholders across the business and technology teams.
  • Maintenance: Document data flows, schema changes, and technical processes for ongoing maintainability.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies, performance issues, and pipeline failures.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: 10+ years (15+ years highly preferred) of hands-on experience writing and optimizing complex T-SQL (SQL Server preferred).
  • Enterprise Scale: Proven, recent experience working within very large, widely recognizable enterprise organizations.
  • Stability: A track record of long-term consulting projects or excellent full-time tenure; ability to work independently in a long-term capacity, managing competing priorities across multiple stakeholders.
  • Language & Communication: English as a first language with strong communication skills, possessing the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated experience working alongside SSIS developers on ETL/data integration processes and Power BI developers, with a deep understanding of how data models feed reporting layers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry Domain: Financial services experience (Banking, Capital Markets, Asset Management, Hedge Fund, Private Credit, or related) is a strong plus and will be given priority consideration.
  • Data Architecture: Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Operational Support: Experience supporting front-, middle-, or back-office reporting functions within financial services.
