Senior Engineer

Utilize materials and process engineering tools including digital camera, metallographic sample sectioning, mounting, polishing, and etching equipment, light microscope, hardness testers, mechanical load frames, environmental exposure and corrosion chambers, scanning electron microscope with EDS and EBSD detectors. Industry experience in any of the following: Welding, casting, forging, metal heat treating, metal finishing, metal extrusion, metal foundry, steel/aluminum mill, failure analysis.

Job Title: Sr Engineer - Materials

Location: Oshkosh, WI

Pay Rate: 60/hr, W 2 During Contract 

Duration: 9+ Month Contract

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm

Interview process: Teams interview followed by an on-site visit.

Position is 100% in office. 

Position has potential to be contract to hire based on candidate performance and the needs of the business, 9-12 months.

At this time, the approval for salary range for this role is $90,000-$145,000 if hired.

US Citizen - no dual citizenship.

Top 3 qualifications:

Degree in Materials Science Engineering or Metallugrical Engineering.
CWI (Certified Weld Inspector) certification (able to renew if expired).
Industry experience in any of the following: Welding, casting, forging, metal heat treating, metal finishing, metal extrusion, metal foundry, steel/aluminum mill, failure analysis.

 

Summary:

• Support Materials and Processing Engineering through failure analysis, material and process evaluations, environmental testing, and new product qualifications.
• Maintain and keep the Materials and Process Laboratory in good working condition.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct failure analysis and materials evaluation.
• Prepare technical oral and written reports.
• Utilize materials and process engineering tools including digital camera, metallographic sample sectioning, mounting, polishing, and etching equipment, light microscope, hardness testers, mechanical load frames, environmental exposure and corrosion chambers, scanning electron microscope with EDS and EBSD detectors.
• Maintain and keep the Materials and Process Lab in good working order.
• Operate within the department's A2LA accredited ISO 17025 quality management system.
• Interface with outside analysis labs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Regular attendance is required.

Requirements:

• Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with minimum 3 years of related experience.
• Degree in Materials Science Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
• CWI (Certified Weld Inspector) certification (able to renew if expired).
• Industry experience in welding, casting, forging, metal heat treating, metal finishing, metal extrusion, metal foundry, steel/aluminum mill, or failure analysis.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience or certifications in welding engineering or inspection, fabrication, or nondestructive testing.
