    Description

    Senior Backend Engineer at Zingage

    Hybrid (New York City, NY)

    $180,000 - $250,000

    About the Role
Zingage is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to own the core decision engine behind our real-time care coordination platform.
We’ve built a system that ingests operational breakdowns (caregiver no-shows, missed visits), stores them as session objects, and supports manual SOP execution by human operators. Now we’re designing the scaffolding for a system that can autonomously coordinate care—in real time, with agents and humans working in a closed loop.
You’ll own the backend runtime that:
    • Plans and executes resolution loops based on SOPs
    • Routes problems to the right agent or human
    • Tracks what’s been tried, adapts when things fail, and drives every session to closure
This is the coordination brain of Zingage. You’ll work alongside Ethan (Principal Engineer, architecting the session model) and Jackie (Founding Product & Design Lead, defining the operator interface and SOP UX) to ship the system that actually solves the problems we detect.
    What You’ll Do
    • Design and implement the backend runtime that drives real-time resolution workflows (e.g., caregiver no-shows, missed documentation, last-minute coverage)
    • Encode SOPs as structured, executable logic that can be retried, escalated, or overridden
    • Build real-time coordination loops that integrate AI agents, humans, and notifications
    • Implement fallback logic, retries, timers, and observability into the session loop
    • Define interfaces between the session object and decision-making logic
    • Collaborate closely with Ethan and Jackie to unify backend execution, agent routing, and operator control
    Who You Are
