Working for the OGC also provides the chance to maintain a healthy work-life balance, with flexibility and ample leave benefits.The Work You Will DoThe Fair Hearing Attorney position is in the Office of the General Counsel, providing legal representation to APD in the areas of consumer services and supports and Medicaid-related litigation in various forums before the Department of Children and Families Office of Appeal Hearings, the Division of Administrative Hearings (DOAH), as well as other state or appellate courts, as required. This role is critical to the Agency and requires coordination and communication with Agency staff, attorneys, consumers, and their representatives and caregivers. This position reports directly to the Fair Hearing Attorney Supervisor.OGC is headquartered at the State Office in Tallahassee, located within the Capital Circle Office Complex at 4030 Esplanade Way. However, APD has regional offices across the state. This position may be filled in Tallahassee, Pensacola, Wildwood, or Lakeland.The Agency recognizes the special responsibility associated with the licensed practice of law. It is a necessary implication, as a member in good standing with the Florida Bar, that you will work outside the normal work hours as necessary to provide quality representation for our clients.
