Description

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Tampa, FL. Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior General Accountant to support general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial results, preparing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and analyze income statement accounts
  • Prepare accruals, prepaids, fixed asset entries, and intercompany transactions
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and account variances
  • Support financial statement preparation and management reporting
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
  • Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and explanations
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and other business partners to resolve accounting issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and increase operational efficiency
  • Assist with special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, or similar
  • Experience supporting audits and financial statement preparation
  • Multi-entity, multi-currency, or international accounting experience
  • Experience with process improvement and system enhancement initiatives
  • Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
