SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

$65,000- $75,0000 + Bonus

Our client is a privately owned, growing organization seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This position will play an important role in accounts receivable, collections, cash management, tax administration, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a hands-on accounting environment.

OVERVIEW OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT ROLE:

• 
  
• Manage the full accounts receivable process, including posting payments, account maintenance, and collections
• 
  
• Oversee collections of approximately $1.2M–$1.6M per month and prepare weekly cash collection reports
• 
  
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations for four accounts and ensure completion by the 2nd–5th business day
• 
  
• Reconcile accounts receivable and customer accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies
• 
  
• Support the month-end close process and assist with various account reconciliations
• 
  
• Manage customer tax information through Avalara, including new customer setup and exemption certificate maintenance
• 
  
• Process daily deposits and transfers between company bank accounts
• 
  
• Monitor credit card processing and assist with daily cash management
• 
  
• Provide backup support for customer invoicing and other accounting functions as needed
• 
  
• Assist with special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as assigned
• 
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT:

• 
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 
  
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 
  
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close
• 
  
• Experience with collections and cash management preferred
• 
  
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• 
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• 
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• 
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• 
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office

• Ability to learn and work effectively within accounting systems
